Re: Michelle Wie making a mistake teeing it up against men
[snip] Although I don't deny it is easier to criticize Wie because she's a woman, I think you over state your case. The primary case against Wie is based in the fact that she continues to pursue competition in places where she doesn't particularly have "status". She's on the LPGA on exemptions (which are about

Re: Missing correctly
[snip] [snip] There's a hole I play regularly (#12 at MetroWest, Orlando) that has a deviously sucker pin location. They stick the pin on the lower right side. All the traps are to the left. Water is to the left. A good drive has you coming in left to right. The lower right side will display a very short yardage. Folks go pin hunting on it all the

Money on the LPGA
Golfers Annika Sorenstam, Michelle Wie and Lorena Ochoa have broken into eight-figure earnings territory,........" * I can see how two out of three have made it but apparently, winning and proving yourself aren't the criteria here (I guess that should be no surprise). For Wie to be considered with the other two seems a real

In article <181f370c-6a2f-4434-91f4-ba87c 2629...@b1g2000hsg.googlegroup s.com>, I have taken to using less club and trying to get in the right spot on the green. Whenever I go flag hunting the course usually knows better than I and turns that into a bogey or worse.

Re: I'm breaking my silence for a while......................
The Bush Administration is desperately wishing for is a Republican administration to follow them, to cover their tracks. That is not likely to happen. The economy will be in real crisis by the end of the year and people will be wanting blood. Not just Democrats: there will be the millions upon millions of former Republicans smart enough to realize they

Re: New irons: an unabashed glowing review...
Ah, another Miata owner. 2004 Mazdaspeed. Also an Ogio bag. The Bagboy push cart (an Express, I think) is a tight squeeze, though. I got it before I got the car. I love the car. It's been my daily driver for the past couple of years. It feels strange to drive anything else.

Re: Rules of Golf
The three I make which are the worst because they can lead to misunderstandings are: to vs. too then vs than the for any word starting in "the" (their, there, them....) my fingers type "the" so often, they just automatically stop. The one that typing instead of speaking has become obvious to me is the double "that". "I knew that that ball wasn't mine". We

Re: Missing correctly
Most pro's and low handicappers will advise that one consider where they don't want to end up. This influences shot selection. Once the shot is selected, then the whole "visualize the shot" thing comes into play. "Taking the lake out of play" is a common strategy. I'm a 15 index and it's rare that I take 3-4 shots from

Re: Missing correctly
[snip] [snip] This is very green dependent and is related to the strategy of not aiming for the green, most commonly in the form of laying up. Some greens are vastly more friendly in front and it is better to take the shorter club that will only actually reach the green with a "perfect" shot. Some are friendlier deep and will encourage

Re: Rules of Golf
On Thu, 24 Jul 2008 11:32:29 GMT, John Reddy I haven't seen "dinning". The Internet spelling that gets me is "noone" for "no one" (Not Peter Noone). As well as the "Your right" and other apostrophe errors.

In article <776a9bee-7007-4984-9a4d-9e9d8 ec8a...@v39g2000pro.googlegrou ps.com>, It becomes a non-speaking point? Or, perhaps it becomes a moot point. (Sorry to be a spelling Nazi but that one always bothers me, although the two that really send me over the edge are "dinning" for "dining" and "breath" for "breathe."

No shit there I was...lying in a hospital bed sleeping like a baby. When all of a sudden these two freaking nurses wake me up from my slumber and start frantically asking me if my blood pressure is always this low when I am sleeping?

Re: Rules of Golf
That's really funny. I was being mocked and didn't know it. That takes a lot of pressure off of me. Apparently I'm not smart enough to have any real responsibility. Consider me mocked. mach 2, even.

Re: Rules of Golf
My dad was being treated in a hospital for high blood pressure. If I hadn't told them that he has abnormally low blood pressure then they wouldn't have noticed that they had already given him medicine to raise his blood pressure and that they should stop it. I think they would fit in fine with the rules committee.

Re: Michelle Wie making a mistake teeing it up against men
I wonder if the men can continue to beat Michelle if they quit attacking her verbally. No one would tell a man that he's not good enough to play on the men's tour if he can get an invitation or qualify. Can you see a guy flipping off someone who told him that he's not good enough to compete and he should go back to the

OAKLAND HILLS, Michigan (AFP) — Greg Norman's impressive run to a third-place finish in the British Open at age 53 has brought the Australian star an invitation to next month's PGA Championship. Norman, playing the Senior British Open this week at Troon, expects to make a decision about playing here at the PGA by Thursday. He already
